Starck’s Seal in Nordelta
Designer Philippe Starck is known throughout the world for his luxurious apartments, and now, living in one does not mean traveling to the opposite end of the world. In fact, just 30 kilometers from the city center is Nordelta, a 1600 hectare megacity north of Buenos Aires. This community is home to one of the most advanced, avant garde enterprises in the saga of Yoo (inspired by Starck).
The designer focuses on wellness in the broadest sense possible, and seeks to create a lifestyle based on this theory, creating a unique quality of life in an innovative way in terms of the structure and the services or activities that respond to this overall wellness.
The launch of the community resulted in the gathering of a variety of renowned individuals, including the entrepreneur and president of Consultatio, the company who is leading the development of Nordelta. K Group Holdings, a real estate development and investment company that serves all of the United States and Latin America was there, represented by Joseph Kavana. He was also joined by John Hitchcox, an international real estate developer; the two men traveled to Argentina especially for the presentation of Yoo.
Other figures have also contributed to the project, ensuring that it will bring sophistication, innovation and harmony within what urban living truly means, where large areas, green spaces and lakes are privileged, and where the highest quality projects live in conjunction with those more accessible to the middle class.
The architect in charge of the project is Carlos Ott from Uruguay, who already has quite an impressive portfolio: The Bastille Opera in Paris, the Shanghai airport, and the National Bank of Dubai, as well as La Rosetta, a project in Nordelta. He is joined by Jack Nicklaus, the golf course designer in Nordelta, who is considered one of the best in Latin America.
The hope is that the luxurious development will help create synergy within the city of Nordelta, which is still growing. It was created by some of the best professionals in their respective fields, and has received great support from the outside, especially from those who plan on moving in. The project cost around U$D 60 million in investments.
The development consists of six buildings with between eight and six floors. The first has 120 units, ranging from 58 m2 to 110 m2, with either one bedroom or two. The building is currently in the presale stage, and unites are selling for USD 2,500 per m2, at the most.
Yoo Punta del Este has had great successes this summer, and potential buyers for Nordelta’s project are invited to visit the Punta del Este version to get an idea of what is being offered. Work is scheduled to begin in July.
The project will also be home to a 1,300 m2 clubhouse, which will host a variety of activities for residents. There will be a public restaurant and spa, but many of the other activities and facilities will be limited to residents. Each building will have a different social activity, ranging from a game room with a bar and a pool table to a wine cellar which will host wine tasting events. The idea is to provide residents with a variety of activities that can be enjoyed year-round.
Local culture is key, and developers are hoping to reflect the style and essence of that culture, focusing on the needs and desires of the people, while bringing a new quality and concept to it all.
